About
The Gobarau Minaret rises above the historic city of Katsina and is one of the most recognisable landmarks in northern Nigeria.
Built from traditional mud and other local materials, the structure reflects the architectural traditions of the Hausa-speaking region.
History & Cultural Significance
The minaret is associated with the development of Islamic scholarship and religious institutions in Katsina.
